JEWISH-CHRISTIAN RELATIONS IN POLAND: A Personal Reflection

Statement by Metropolitan Yuvenali (Russian Orthodox Church) on the Alleged “Ritual” Nature of the Murder of the Royal Family

Thus, the contemporary expert theological analysis of so-called “ritual murder” confirms the negative specialist opinion of the group of Orthodox theologians (Professor I.G. Troitsky of the St Petersburg Spiritual Academy and Professor A.A. Glagolev of the Kiev Spiritual Academy) who in 1913 were witnesses at the Beylis trial. The analysis of the circumstances surrounding the murder of the royal family likewise does not permit a conclusion that it was ritual in nature.

Wasi prorocy - nasi prorocy

Przemówienie Patriarchy Moskwy i Wszechrusi Aleksego wygłoszone 13 listopada 1991 w Nowym Jorku podczas spotkania z rabinami.

A JEWISH THEOLOGICAL UNDERSTANDING OF CHRISTIANITY IN OUR TIME

Whether the possibility of this new Jewish-Christian relationship will be realized in and for our time will depend in large measure on the theological ingenuity, philosophical perspicacity, and historical insight of leading thinkers in each community. For the most part, their work, both separately and in concert, still lies before them. David Novak January 1991.

From a Statement of the United Synagogue of Conservative Judaism issued in 1988: "Emet ve-Emunah":

As Conservative Jews, we acknowledge without apology the many debts which Jewish religion and civilization owe to the nations of the world. We eschew triumphalism with respect to other ways of serving God. Maimonides believed that other monotheistic faiths—Christianity and Islam—serve to spread knowledge of, and devotion to, the God and the Torah of Israel throughout the world. Many modern thinkers, both Jewish and Gentile, have noted that God may well have seen fit to enter covenants with many nations …
