We received Your Holiness’ letter with deep gratitude for your enduring trust and friendship. “Words that emanate from the heart, enter the heart” [Rabbi Moshe Ibn Ezra, Sefer Shirat Yisrael/ Kitab almakhatzrah wa-almadakrah] -- we are moved by this expression of closeness and take comfort in your extension of a hand to Jews around the world, and especially in Israel, in this time of great distress.

Vatican City, 2 February 2024 - Letter of the Holy Father to Jewish brothers and sisters in Israel

We are experiencing a moment of great travail. Wars and divisions are increasing all over the world. We are truly, as I said some time ago, in the midst of a sort of "piecemeal world war", with serious consequences on the lives of many populations.
Unfortunately, even the Holy Land has not been spared this pain, and since October 7 it too has been cast into a spiral of unprecedented violence. My heart is torn at the sight of what is happening in the Holy Land, by the power of so much division and so much hatred.

O kalendarzu żydowskim

Czwartek na Tłomackiem 29 lutego 2024! W spotkaniu wezmą udział rabin Stas Wojciechowicz i dr Paweł Fijałkowski
Ostatni lutowy Czwartek na Tłomackiem odbędzie się w szczególny dzień – w końcu 29 lutego zdarza się tylko raz na cztery lata. Ponadto w kalendarzu żydowskim trwa właśnie miesiąc Adar, a niecałe dwa tygodnie później rozpocznie się Adar Szeni (hebr. drugi Adar), zwany też Adarem Bet – miesiąc przestępny, który przypada siedem razy w czasie dziewiętnastoletniego cyklu. To oznacza, że w trwającym właśnie roku 5784 jest trzynaście, a nie dwanaście miesięcy.

The Concept of De-assimilation

Stanisław Krajewski: After the 1968 emigration, very few Jews remained in Poland, and even more minis-cule was the number of “Jewish Jews.” Since then the number has grown somewhat,and much of it is due to the process of de-assimilation; i.e., some people with Jew-ish ancestors raised in completely Polonized families began to recover, reclaim, andreadapt their Jewish background.

U Żydów święto: Tu bi-Szwat

W 2024 roku - 25 stycznia.
"Gdy przyjdziecie do ziemi Izraela i będziecie sadzić wszelkie drzewo rodzące jadalny owoc, będzie wam ten owoc wzbroniony – przez trzy lata będzie wam wzbroniony i jedzony nie będzie. A w czwartym roku wszelki jego owoc będzie święty i jedzony tylko w Jerozolimie, na chwałę Boga. A w piątym roku możecie jeść jego owoc. Przestrzegaj tego prawa żeby zwiększyć swój plon. Ja Bóg, jestem waszym Bogiem" (Księga Kapłańska, Kedoszim, 19:23–25).
