Ludzie przyjeżdżają do Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau i wielu z nich chce rozmawiać również o tym, co się dzieje teraz [w Izraelu i Palestynie], wypowiadają się także na naszych profilach w mediach społecznościowych. I to nie jest tylko nasz problem, bo Muzeum Holokaustu w Waszyngtonie, Memoriał Pamięci Shoah w Paryżu czy Jad Waszem w Jerozolimie zmagają się z tym samym. Powiem szczerze, że nikt z nas nie był na to przygotowany — mówi Piotr Cywiński, dyrektor Muzeum Auschwitz-Birkenau.

IPJS - Exploring a Jewish Community in Ukraine today: the case of Odessa

Based on nearly two decades of research in Odesa, Ukraine and her current research with Ukrainian Jewish refugees in Germany and other parts of Europe, Dr. Marina Sapritsky-Nahum will be discussing the current developments of Ukrainian Jewry home and abroad. The 2022 full scale Russian invasion of Ukraine has had a great effect on Jewish life in Ukraine. This talk will address the ways Ukrainian Jewish communities have been altered and fragmented and the creative and inspiring responses of members and leadership amid challenging conditions of war and refuge.

IPJS Conference - ‘Jewish Childhood in Eastern Europe’

The conference to launch volume 36 of Polin: Studies in Polish Jewry will be held on 22 February 2024. Organised by the Institute for Polish-Jewish Studies and the Institute for Jewish Studies at University College London, in partnership with the Polin Museum of History of Polish Jews, Warsaw, and the Embassy of the Republic of Poland, it will take the form of two online discussions at the Polin Museum of History of Polish Jews, Warsaw followed by a lecture and discussion at the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in London.

27 stycznia 2024 r. obchodzić będziemy 79. rocznicę wyzwolenia niemieckiego nazistowskiego obozu koncentracyjnego i zagłady Auschwitz.
Dziś dla świata Auschwitz jest symbolem Zagłady i okrucieństw II wojny światowej. W 2005 r. Organizacja Narodów Zjednoczonych uchwaliła dzień 27 stycznia Międzynarodowym Dniem Pamięci o Ofiarach Holokaustu.
