Edward Kessler to be Awarded 2024 SEELISBERG PRIZE

The SEELISBERG PRIZE is awarded annually (since 2022) by the International Council of Christians and Jews (which originated out of the Seelisberg conference) and the Center for Intercultural Theology and Religions at the University of Salzburg.
It honours individuals who have played major roles through their scholarship and teaching in advancing the rapprochement between Jews and Christians.

A New Era? Christian-Jewish Relations in Post-Cold War Europe

In December 2015, during a festive gathering at Tel Aviv University, a book – the first of its kind – was launched: In our time: Documents and Articles on the Catholic Church and the Jewish People in the Wake of the Holocaust.[1] The volume includes papal and Vatican announcements, sermons, declarations, and agreements, all concerning a dramatic change in the attitudes of the Catholic Church towards the Jewish people and Israel, issued within a 50-year span: from the conclusion of the Second Vatican Council (1965) until the end of 2015.

ICCJ's 2024 conference is running

Preparations for ICCJ's 2024 annual conference to be held in Salzburg/Austria, June 23-26, are under way.
The theme of the conference is "'Be holy, because I, the Lord, your God, am holy.' (Wajikra / Leviticus 19:2) - Holiness: Religious Imperative and Moral Obligation?
Together with five plenary sessions, a trip to Bad Ischl, evening program, music and more there will be a total of 20 workshops in four workshop sessions, which will address a wide range of themes related to the conference theme, Jewish-Christian and Jewish-Christian-Muslim relations, and interreligious dialogue in general.

Letter of the ICCJ President Liliane Apotheker and a message for the Easter Season and Pesach from the Theology Committee of the ICCJ

We are aware of the time gaps this year among the different Christian denominations regarding the dates of Easter and the gap between Easter and Pesach (“Passover”) for the Jews. Despite that, we, members of the theology committee of the International Council of Christians and Jews, see as paramount sending a joint message of hope, faith and peace to all.

Holiness: A Religious Imperative and Moral Obligation?

Sunday, June 23 - Wednesday, June 26

ICCJ's 2024 annual conference, entitled "'Be holy, because I, the Lord, your God, am holy.' (Wajikra / Leviticus 19:2) - Holiness: Religious Imperative and Moral Obligation?", will take place in Salzburg/Austria, June 23-26, and the online registration for participants is now open.
The conference is organized in collaboration with ICCJ's Austrian member organization, the Koordinierungsausschuss für christlich-jüdische Zusammenarbeit, and the Paris Lodron Universität Salzburg, Research Programme Jewish Christian Dialogue and will be offered with simultaneous translation in English and German.
