Invitation to a panel discussion in partnership with Praying Together in Jerusalem
Thursday, August 6 at 11 AM Eastern time - 6 PM Israel time
As part of our online summer school, we are holding a panel discussion with 3 distinguished religious scholars. We would like to extend the invitation to all who wish to attend. At the end of the session there will be an interfaith prayer streamed live from Jerusalem, with Muslim, Jewish, and Christian participants.
Panelists:
- Dirk-Martin Grube, Amsterdam Dirk-Martin Grube holds the chair in ethics at the Vrije Universiteit, Amsterdam. Previously, he held the chair in Philosophy of Religion at Utrecht University. He works at the intersection of theology and philosophy (epistemology and theory of religious diversity) and is a Paul Tillich expert.
- Dr. Sallie B. King, USA Dr. Sallie B. King is Professor Emerita at James Madison University (Harrisonburg, VA) and Affiliate Faculty, Professor of Buddhist Studies, Department of Theology, Georgetown University (Washington, DC). She is author of Socially Engaged Buddhism and Being Benevolence: The Social Ethics of Engaged Buddhism, and co-editor (with Christopher S. Queen) of Engaged Buddhism: Buddhist Liberation Movements in Asia.
- Mufti Mustafa Ceric, Bosnia Mufti Dr. Mustafa Ceric graduated from Al-Azhar University in Cairo and afterwards accepted the position of Imam at the Islamic Cultural Center in the United States. During his tenure at the Center, he earned a Ph.D. in Islamic Theology at the University of Chicago. In 1987, he returned to his homeland and became a practicing Imam in a learning center in Zabreb.
