Rabbi Jeff Berger is originally from New York and is a product of the Montefiore Kollel, the programme set up by the Spanish and Portuguese community to train new central Orthodox rabbis for British Jewry. He is an interfaith advisor, a broadcaster, a writer, a thought innovator, a public speaker, a chaplain, a pastoral carer, and a friend. Since 2018 he has been involved with Interfaith outreach and efforts to build bridges of understanding and compassion between and among Faith Leaders in the UK and further afield. He participated in the meeting of the Elijah Board of World Religious Leaders in 2023.

After 6 months of learning and praying together, we need to intensify our appeals to the Almighty for human dignity and peace. So, we are devoting this week's gathering simply to prayers.

Czy wiara może być związana z narodem, czy jest jedynie osobistą relacją człowieka z Bogiem? Czy Bóg wzywa cały naród czy tylko pojedynczego człowieka? Co stanowi o narodzie, którego członkowie wywodzą się z różnych narodów i religii lub nie identyfikują się z żadną religią? Czy Bóg kieruje odmienne wezwania do poszczególnych narodów, tak jak kieruje indywidualnie do każdego z nas? Czy takie rozumowanie może być początkiem dyskryminacji lub rasizmu? A może wiara w Boże wezwanie jest źródłem pokoju w każdej sytuacji i kontekście?

Rekolekcje Wielkopostne zawsze są osobistym, wewnętrznym przygotowaniem do przeżycia wielkiego Triduum: przez cierpienia i śmierć do zmartwychwstania naszego Pana Jezusa Chrystusa. Tak szukamy w naszym życiu pocieszenia, kierunku, nadziei i odwagi.
W tym roku zapraszamy szczególnie zatroskanych o pokój. Czujemy, że wojny w Ukrainie i w Ziemi Świętej nas dotyczą. Nie chcemy być obojętni.
