"Memory plays a key part in the religious life and in the creation of religious identity but the meaning of "memory" is
different in each of the six religious traditions we will examine. By analysing the similarities and differences in
the way that memory is understood and used, we will come to appreciate its significance as well as the challenges
that come from conflicting memories.
Painful memories can impede our relationships. Conflicting memories are often the source of ongoing disagreement
between religious communities. We will look for ways of healing memory and finding common ground to move forward
despite our differences, indeed, honouring each others sacred memories."

POLIN Meeting Point 2018
Recruitment is starting for the IV edition of POLIN Meeting Point summer school for university students from Israel,
Germany, Poland and Ukraine.
This year's edition of the summer school will be held from 20 August - 2 September at the POLIN Museum of the
History of Polish Jews, in Warsaw. It will be on the subject of 1968, which was recorded in history as a year of
civil disobedience, the beginning of a cultural and moral revolution. 50 years after these events, we would like to
invite the participants of the POLIN Meeting Point summer school to discuss the meaning of 1968 for European countries
(on both sides of the Iron Curtain) and Israel. We are accepting applications until 9 May, 2018.
